For US Muslim nonprofits · in development

Giving software that never takesa percentage of zakat.

NextifyCRM is a donation checkout, a donor portal and a real CRM that share one Islamic-native data model — ring-fenced zakat funds, Hijri-aware campaigns, qurbani fulfilment, and a supporter record that stays yours.

Donations never touch our balance — Stripe Connect Standard, direct charges.

Market context

Third-party research on the sector we build for — not NextifyCRM results.

  • $4.3B

US Muslim charitable giving, per year

Average Muslim household gives $3,200 against $1,905 nationally.

  • $1.8B

    of that is zakat

Average zakat gift: $2,070. An obligation, not a discretionary donation.

  • 2,769

    mosques in the United States

Alongside 3,400+ Islamic nonprofits and ~235 full-time Islamic schools.

Muslim Philanthropy Initiative / ISPU and the US Mosque Survey. These are third-party market figures for the sector we serve — not NextifyCRM results.

The wedge

Any platform percentage taken off zakat is a live Shariah objection.

So we sell two fee models and let you pick: 3% per transaction, or a flat monthly fee with no percentage at all. Drag the slider to see where they cross.

$15,000/mo

Slider runs from $1,000 to $300,000 per month.

Tier 1 · Percentage

Cheaper at this volume

3% per transaction

$450/mo

3% of $15,000

  • Collected natively as a Stripe Connect application fee on direct charges.
  • No commitment, no monthly bill — the on-ramp tier.
  • Per-fund switch: flag zakat as invoice-me-instead and the deduction is $0.00.

Tier 2 · Flat monthly

No per-transaction percentage

$499/mo

Illustrative figure — volume bands not final

  • Every dollar, including zakat, reaches you 100% intact.
  • Banded on trailing-12-month average volume, reviewed quarterly.
  • A Ramadan spike never triggers a mid-Ramadan band jump.

At $15,000 a month, the flat tier is $49 more expensive than 3%.

Ring-fenced zakat

We never take a percentage of zakat.

Not on the flat tier, where we take nothing from any donation. And not on the percentage tier either — you can mark a zakat fund invoice-me-instead, and the deduction on every zakat gift becomes zero. Both paths are collected through Stripe Connect, and neither one holds your donors’ money.

Zakat is an obligation with rules about who may receive it. Skimming a platform fee off the top is not a pricing detail — it is a fiqh problem, and it is the reason a percentage-fee competitor cannot follow us here without breaking its own model.

The 42% assumption is the US sector ratio ($1.8B zakat within $4.3B of Muslim giving). Your own split will differ. The 4% comparison is Fundraise Up’s published platform fee.

Illustrative only. The flat tier is shown at a single $499/month to make the crossover legible; real bands are not published yet. Neither figure includes payment processing, which is paid to Stripe or PayPal, not to us.

Four things nothing else does

Generic platforms treat zakat as a dropdown.

Every one of these is a data-model decision, not a feature toggle — which is why they cannot be retrofitted onto a checkout that was designed for a single undifferentiated “donation”.

  • Fund accounting

A zakat fund that is actually ring-fenced

Zakat is a restricted, non-commingled fund with its own double-entry ledger, its own balance, and donor conditions modelled as data — geography, allowable spend, disbursement timing. Generic CRMs model this as a text field on a gift.

Board-ready zakat disbursement reporting, not a spreadsheet reconciliation.

  • The Islamic calendar

    Hijri-aware campaigns and last-ten-nights giving

Anchor a campaign to Ramadan 1448 once and every schedule, deadline and report follows the lunar date. The last-ten-nights splitter charges at maghrib in the donor's own timezone, with per-night multipliers and nightly failure protection.

Zakat al-Fitr deadlines and Dhul Hijjah windows are first-class, not custom fields.

  • Product SKUs, not amounts

Qurbani fulfilment a donor can watch happen

Animal type, country, quantity and a fulfilment window inside Dhul Hijjah — a real state machine with a status board, an idempotent bulk import, and a post-sacrifice confirmation the donor sees in their portal.

The same shape covers sponsorship, fidyah, kaffarah and aqiqah.

  • Your donors, your records

A donor portal and a CRM that share one data model

Passwordless portal with full recurring self-service and consolidated annual and Ramadan tax statements. Behind it, a real supporter record: custom fields, tags, households, dedup — and zakat-versus-sadaqah segmentation on the Hijri calendar.

One system, not a checkout stitched to a CRM stitched to a mail tool.

Inside the product

The zakat fund has its own balance, not a label.

Restricted funds are separate ledgers with separate balances, excluded from unrestricted totals, and exportable on their own for a board or an auditor. Here is what that looks like.

The eight-point star is the fulfilment-complete mark throughout the product — one functional signifier, used the same way every time.

Where we actually are

Pre-launch, and looking for organizations to build this with.

Nothing on this page is a customer claim, because we do not have customers yet. The checkout, the portal and the fund ledger are being built now, aimed at Ramadan 1448. What we want are design partners — a relief org, a school, a masjid, an advocacy org — who will tell us where the data model is wrong while it is still cheap to fix.

  • Free white-glove migration off whatever you are stitched together with today.
  • Roadmap input on fund accounting, Hijri scheduling and qurbani fulfilment.
  • A Shariah-compliance memo covering fee structure and float handling, reviewed by scholars, published rather than promised.

Trust, architecturally

Donations never touch our balance.

We use Stripe Connect Standard accounts with direct charges, so every gift lands in your organization’s own Stripe account. We are not in the flow of funds, you keep or apply for Stripe’s nonprofit rate directly, and dispute liability sits between you and Stripe.

It also means we cannot quietly hold your donors’ money, which matters more in this sector than in most.

The platform entity is itself being set up as a nonprofit.
